As a kid, I was always fascinated with mixing substances together to see what weird concoction I could make. So, when I started LARPing and saw that I could make potions, I jumped on board the alchemy train. But, I had no idea where to start, so I took a year to watch others; unfortunately there weren’t many alchemists in town that I could learn from. This year I made it my goal to make alchemy more fun for myself, and other players, by making the potions interactive and edible. After playing an alchemist for a year, I have found that a lot of people shy away from the skill because it is an expensive skill and it is more focussed on role-play rather than combat. So, here are my tips for finding containers, ingredients, and effects for your potions.

After using the same list, over and over, whenever I packed for game, I decided to post it so that others would have a better idea of what to pack whenever they went away for a weekend to LARP. Now, keep in mind that these are the basics that I bring when going away for a weekend LARPing. Every person and every LARP is different so use this as a guideline for what to pack.
